In a ceremony filled with recognition and gratitude, the Marton Care Homes Awards, held at the Marriott Hotel in Leeds on February 29th, acknowledged the exceptional leadership within their network. Sharon Dixon of Dene Grange in Hexham was honoured with the prestigious Home Leader of the Year award, reflecting her outstanding contributions and dedication to the care sector.
The award was presented by Kirsty Crozier, Managing Director of Marton Care Homes, and Richard Hoggart, owner, who together recognised the exemplary qualities that Sharon brings to Dene Grange. Kirsty Crozier, in her commendation, highlighted the words of those who nominated Sharon: “We’ll let the nominations speak for themselves. Being described as a big asset to our home, a massive part of the team, someone who goes beyond expectations, and the best nurse ever, Sharon exemplifies what it means to be a leader in care.”
Sharon Dixon’s leadership has not only elevated the standards of care at Dene Grange but has also fostered a supportive and collaborative environment for both staff and residents. Her dedication, compassion, and drive to exceed expectations have made her an invaluable member of the Marton Care Homes family.
The ceremony also honoured the significant contributions of the other finalists, Andrew Dove from St Helens Care Home in Bishop Auckland and Clair Richardson from Elm Bank in Hexham, who have each demonstrated exceptional leadership and commitment to their respective homes and teams.
The Marton Care Homes Awards night, celebrated with a festive champagne reception and the gathering of dedicated care professionals, served as a platform to honour the hard work and dedication of individuals like Sharon, who play a pivotal role in enhancing the lives of those in their care.
