Meet Bev Chester

Care Home Manager

Bev has been the dedicated home manager at Wansbeck Care Home for the past 3 years, bringing over 35 years of experience in the care sector. Her extensive background includes working with individuals with learning disabilities, autism, and challenging behaviour, but her true passion lies in dementia care, where she has spent more than 20 years. Bev is deeply committed to creating a nurturing and supportive environment for the elderly and takes great pride in listening to their life stories and experiences. She also values building relationships with residents’ families, making sure she understands each resident as much as possible.

Outside of work, Bev enjoys family life with her husband Ian, their 5 grown-up children, and 11 grandchildren, with another grandson on the way. She’s also a proud dog owner of a little pup named Lulu, and in her spare time, she loves to knit—often creating baby clothes for family members of the staff.

At Wansbeck, Bev and her team are committed to providing a home from home atmosphere. The team is known for being caring, compassionate, and always going the extra mile for the residents. Bev often describes Wansbeck as her second family and is passionate about fostering a strong sense of community within the home.

Bev’s door is always open, and she’s known for being approachable and ready for a friendly chat, ensuring that both residents and their families feel supported and welcome at Wansbeck Care Home.
